Rain
Meet our newest foster girl, Rain — and what a journey she has already had.
Rain was found in the city on 2/19/2026 and brought to the shelter in critical need of care. Shortly after intake, she began showing signs consistent with rat poison ingestion, and thanks to a sharp-eyed doctor who recognized what was happening quickly, Rain was started immediately on a Vitamin K treatment regimen in hopes of saving her life.
And it worked. 💙
For the past month, Rain has been receiving treatment in a shelter foster home while slowly gaining strength. During that time, she also tested heartworm positive, adding another hurdle to her recovery journey.
Now, thanks to a foster stepping up for her, Rain is safe, comfortable, and continuing her Vitamin K treatment with Ridge’s Rescue.
This coming Monday, Rain will undergo her spay surgery, and after that we will begin the next important chapter: heartworm treatment.
She has already proven she is a fighter, and we are committed to seeing her through every step of healing. 🐾✨
Please keep Rain in your thoughts as she heads into surgery and begins the road toward full recovery. If you’d like to support her care, donations always help us continue saying yes to dogs like Rain.

Scooby
Scooby is a Ridge's Rescue lifetime program dog. This little Chihuahua mix was a stray found in the city. He's spent his time since joining his foster home learning to trust. After over a year, he still does not trust strangers and can be aggressive towards then. As he has gained trust in his foster and their dogs, he will live his days out in their home as he is safe there.
-

Dora
Dora is the longest resident with Ridge's Rescue. She is approximately 10 years of age. Dora has come a long way since joining us 4 years ago, however after losing her foster she has been in a boarding sanctuary where she has seemed to thrive and will live out her days there.

Archie
Archie is a young Jack Russell terrier mix that is currently in foster care. He is working on training for severe resource guarding and food aggression.

Sally
💖 Meet Sally 💖
Sally was born on July 26, 2025 — but her life nearly ended before it truly began.
On October 17, Ridge’s Rescue received an urgent plea about a tiny, critically ill puppy suffering from severe Megaesophagus and facing a very poor prognosis. Without rescue stepping in, she may not have survived.
She came into rescue on October 18, fragile and fighting for her life.
But Sally is a survivor.
With round-the-clock care, careful feeding protocols, vet support, and an incredible community behind her, this little girl refused to give up. Day by day, she grew stronger. Ounce by ounce, she gained weight. Today, she weighs approximately 20–25 pounds — a milestone that once felt impossible.
Sally is not just a puppy.
She is resilience.
She is second chances.
She is what happens when compassion shows up in time.
Despite everything she has endured, Sally is full of love. She greets the world with a wagging tail and bright eyes, soaking up affection and reminding everyone around her just how powerful hope can be.
Her journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been extraordinary — and she is living proof that even the smallest lives are worth fighting for. 🐾💕

Gordo
Meet Gordo, the newest pup to join the Ridge’s Rescue family! 💛
Gordo was found as a stray in the city of Rochester on 12/29, and since then he’s been patiently waiting for a family who never came back for him. But thanks to an amazing foster opening their home, Gordo finally got his ticket out — and we’re so happy he’s now safe with us!
This handsome guy is estimated to be 2–3 years old, good with other dogs, and is already neutered and up to date on his vaccines. At this time he would do best in a home without cats.
For the next couple of weeks, Gordo will be settling in with his foster family while we get to know his personality, routines, and all the little things that make him special. Once we know him better, he’ll be ready to start accepting adoption applications!
For now, let’s give Gordo a big Ridge’s Rescue welcome and show him that the best chapter of his life is just beginning. 🐶✨
💛 Stay tuned for updates on this sweet boy!
